"The sugar-acidity balance and the finesse of the aromas are excellent for the whites. For the reds, the cool nights and sunny days enabled us to harvest at optimum ripeness, with very good quality tannins."
Julien Brustis - Oenologist at Bouche du Roi
2020 turned out to be a particularly sunny and dry year.
The vines developed early following a mild winter bathed in sunshine. The clays in our soils proved invaluable in capturing water from the rare rainy spells and feeding the vines throughout their development.
The providential rainfall in August and the exceptional weather in September enabled the different grape varieties in the vineyard to reach optimum ripeness.
Harvesting took place from September 01 to 22 on the 10 hectares in production. To date, the quality and balance of the juices are very promising. During vinification, we are taking great care with each vat, each plot, to reveal the full potential of this very fine 2020 harvest.
