2020 turned out to be a particularly sunny and dry year.
The vines developed early following a mild winter bathed in sunshine. The clays in our soils proved invaluable in capturing water from the rare rainy spells and feeding the vines throughout their development.
The providential rainfall in August and the exceptional weather in September enabled the different grape varieties in the vineyard to reach optimum ripeness.
Harvesting took place from September 01 to 22 on the 10 hectares in production. To date, the quality and balance of the juices are very promising. During vinification, we are taking great care with each vat, each plot, to reveal the full potential of this very fine 2020 harvest.

A couple walks past the plot on their weekly Sunday stroll and had been wondering if this mysterious new plant was a vine. "It's brilliant to do this here, chapeau!"
The first bottles from the region's first professional winery, created in 2017 at Davron in the Yvelines, are out of the cellars. The results are stunning.
When you read between the lines of Domaine la Bouche du Roi, a brilliant red and a white that leaves you speechless, it's very good.
