Founded in 2017 by Adrien Pélissié, La Bouche du Roi is a pioneering estate located on the historic plain of Versailles. The 27-hectare vineyard is organically farmed and planted with six grape varieties: Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc for the whites; Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc for the reds.
The cellar, described as "the most remarkable discovery of 2024" by Le Figaro newspaper, welcomes visitors by appointment.
The estate takes its name from La Bouche du Roi, the illustrious department of the royal household responsible for overseeing the King's table - including the sommeliers, échansons and cooks, who ensured the quality of the food and wine served at the court of Versailles.
La Bouche du Roi is distributed via Bordeaux wine merchants (La Place de Bordeaux). In the United States, its wines are imported exclusively by Maison Barrière and are available in several states. They can be found in restaurants such as Thomas Keller's PerSe (New York), Alain Ducasse's establishments (Paris) and Lafayette in Miami.
